Izzie blogs vicariously through me....enjoy!

Let me just preface...this is, in fact, Izzie's side of the story (and its pretty much spot on...I'm a girl sometimes -and sometimes I wish I were a girl more often-).

"Most of you may know me as IZ and its time for me to start blogging….

I'd have to say, my boyfriend is sometimes the funniest person I know and at times, its in the most unlikely scenarios. I had always known him to have a girly side to him…you know, he dresses nice, likes to pick out clothes for me (and is usually right on), loves Kohl's and Marshall's and probably shops there more than the average chick and ha, funny, that is where this story is going, the dressing room in Kohls! This story is about how Sean literally had a temper tantrum in Kohls!

So, it was Saturday and we both a extremely busy days. I had a baby shower in the morning all the way up in Cambridge and he had his fun excursion mountain biking with his cousin John (where John biffed and almost broke his neck (see pics), BUT you must know HE IS NOT SLOW!). We were planning on re-convening in the afternoon to do some shopping (go figure) and wash up and get ready to go to Scotty Too Hotties annual Christmas party. We were both running a bit behind. We met around 2ish at my place and Sean was still all sweaty and smelled like poop when he walked in the door (actually not really but something did). We really didn’t have time for him to take a shower so he did clean up quite nicely without a shower and we headed out to do some shopping. The shopping agenda included gifts for this party we were going to and each of us wanted to buy something new to wear. We stopped at TJ Max and Target but Sean still had not yet found the perfect sweater. By this time we were really running behind because the party started at 7pm in Eagan and we still had to shower up and get ready..by this time it was about 5:00! We decided to stop at one more place. We were in Kohls and literally walked around for what seemed to be like hours (but probably only about 20 minutes). We just could not find the right sweater, combo of shirt and sweater, button up and what not. If you only knew what it was like to shop with him. He tends to be very particular about his style of clothing, not only how it looks but how it fits. I could see as the evening went on how Sean was starting to get a bit frazzled and frustrated that we couldn’t find something. He does not like feeling rushed and when you combine that with needing to find something that is reasonably priced and something he would actually wear more than once and not able to do so, watch out…NOT a good combo! Hamstr. My last suggestion of the evening, before I decided to keep my mouth shut and let him find what he likes, was to find a button up and then a sweater to wear over it. That look seems to be a good trend this season although I know Sean was really stretching his limits to even consider it because he typically makes fun of guys that wear the combo button up and sweater vest. He did make it clear the sweater vest was just not an option but maybe a regular sweater over the button up. So, I offered to just pick a button up and a sweater to try on JUST to see if that is even a look he likes and not be so concerned about the exact items (like matching them and finding the best patterns/colors etc). All of a sudden I see he had 4 different button ups and I was like "Sean! What are you doing?, just try ONE on to see if you even like it, we are wasting time!" so he says, "Fine". So he runs into the dressing room and literally 2 seconds later I see him stomping out with nothing in his hands. I said, "Sean, what happened to the shirts" and he said he just hated the idea and looked at one and just threw them all on the ground. I started laughing my butt off! It really wasn’t until on the car ride home when I really started laughing just thinking that he completely had a chick moment and it was classic! I will never forget that, it was one of the funniest things I have seen!

By the way, I was actually the one that found the sweater he ended up buying for the evening. We did end up leaving there alive, with a good purchase in hand (good priced and something he would actually wear again) and with enough time to spare in order to get to the party on time, all because of his wonderful patient girlfriend who loves it when he has a girl moment because its times like these that makes it all worth it! I am usually the one that gets to have all the girl moments, well not that day!"

IZ's out...

Can you "post-face" something? Well I will...

John didn't actually CRASH in those pics...they were staged. I didn't want to admit that cause the pics looked so good, but there you have it.

I had a chick moment...but am very much a guy who appreciates some 'softer' things in life. Did I ever mention that wearing a 'wife-beater' under a t-shirt under a sweatshirt is like being hugged ALL day long? See...thats what I'm talking about.

Thank you for this Izzie...your a GEM.

Bish...out! (she stole my line)
