okay! lets 'sum' up the weekend...
then we can hit some high hat points...
things that make you go "hmmm",
and things that make you straight up laugh out loud!
What do you get on a Friday night at church?
well, at open door this past week you get yourself
a great night of music, fun and laughter.
checked out a new 'idea' in the coffee shop world.
The Studio (at Rush creek, no the golf course).
Coffee and Art, not a gallery of sorts,
but you do art while you there.
DO it, I didn't do any myself,
but the 'joe' was top notch and so was my company.
Church...
i like to be at my church!
bottom line..i feel at home and welcome.
Elizabeth Honicutt....CD release party.
Google her name and you can here some music.
Great and good stuff, voices of an angelic angel
Redundant, but true.
A couple of opening acts left me breathless.
Cara 'somethinorother' was amazing...
Will post a link sooner than later for sure.
my favorite musical artist at the moment...
and only 21 years young. AMAZING and graceful.
Stephan Van Hoorst...acoustic jam and talk of...
French Fries...left me painfully hungry,
for food and God (and missing my Mom).
3 hours of music, 3 hours of time at church,
feeling the presence, at ease, in peace.
Good company.
The french fry talk left me hungry...
but for dinner this time.
Burgers are my staple as of late.
Always a favorite, but now a constant.
uptown....sober, and sobering.
i love to NOT drink, so i don't drink!
leaves an emptiness, though...
one that CAN be filled, just timing.
Then back to a 'ranch',
not THE ranch, but one that feels like home!!
Thanks Iz!
Saturday, day 2...long outlook, slow pace
speeding time...
not much sleep going on,
much to do.
KARATAY for Kyle
a little grocery shopping.
Nintendo Wii passes the time,
decent weather and some good snacks.
on my own with the kiddies,
nothing new, all good.
night falls, slumber knocking at my door
too much to do though..
so we (me and the kids) head out for an...]
adventure of sorts.
new shoes for them both,
a gift, for myself and another.
Back to the shoes.
converse store is a fun time...
lots of All-Stars
lots of new designs.
Kyle got some lo-top taylors with,
what else than,
a computer, digital design....
he loves them, and they fit him well.
size and character.
malia...all white (mistake?)
hot pink laces and neat little touches of
flowers.
She told me after wearing them for about a
half hour or so...
"Daddy, these shoes fit perfect, they are so awesome,
and super humiliating!"
What? 'super humiliating'....
I laughed, alot, and out loud
which she is not fond of...
so profound, and so Innocent.
malia now knows what humiliating means...
there was some humility in the process of learning a new word.
Chuck E. Cheese...
lotsa games, lotsa people.
reassured me that, for the most part,
people are good, at least good intentions,
but there are just some plain rude ones
and that will never change.
Young and old.
Ran into an old friend and her hubby...
met their nephew Victor,
and chatted a bit.
Oh the irony....
homeward bound, crazy good night.
Kids fell asleep on the couch to Nickelodeon awards show...
Good Times.
Sunday bloody Sunday...
presence of only 3....
Hunter in PLS...
me and the kids rockin it old skool!
woke up way too early
considering the late night...
no prob, got things done.
Church....
great message, awkward conversations.
I like it on so many levels.
Kids had some things to attend to with their Mom.
i had some things to attend to with errands, lunch,
and hanging out.
Got to keep my head in check.
too easy to falter now,
surrounding myself with the goods
and the greats.
i won't give up or give in.
Sunday was good day.
hunter came home very sick : (
Kyle got that sickness throughout the night.
All in all...Good stuff.
Bishop "GK" out like a trout...

Great stuff bro. Love to hear about the kids. Keep the good, cling to the great! In time it becomes muscle memory.
